Carlson is a privately-held global hospitality and travel company encompassing more than 1000 hotels, including Radisson and Country Inn & Suites, more than 1000 restaurants, including TGI Friday’s and Pick Up Stix, and Carlson Wagonlit Travel, the global leader in business travel management.

Carlson chose Oracle On Demand to host its recent upgrade to Version 11. The upgrade provides shared security for reduced maintenance, a supported platform with expanded Planning and HFM functionality and tighter integration. In the future, they will also be able to realize the benefit of tighter data integration and data movement tools.

Carlson had a mix of products and versions that were about to become an unsupported platform—HFM 4.0, Planning 4.0, Essbase 7.2, EIS 7.2, DRM/MDM 9.2, and Upstream 7.2—hosted on Windows and Unix Environments with an Oracle database backend.

eCapital Advisors migrated Carlson to 11.1.1.3 for all components, and changed the hosting partner to Oracle on Demand with Windows and Linux servers with an Oracle database backend. All metadata, security, and data was migrated and upgraded to the newest release of Hyperion.  We created custom documentation, held “What’s New” training sessions, and mentored staff on numerous approaches and testing processes.
